Arab on Radar
Yahweh or the Highway
Skingraft
The fourth album from Providence, R.I.’s most unyielding noise quartet provides yet another example of what it would be like if oral surgery was set to music. Relentlessly and frighteningly evil, yet strangely comforting, Arab on Radar’s "music" is more or less a barrage of highly dissonant sounds, machinelike and angry - they seem to be daring you to listen. Strangely enough, there is an element of humor buried within all of this. Kudos to whoever’s in charge of the song titles. There are some real doozies here - "Birth Control Blues," "Cocaine Mummy" and "God Is Dad" are good, but my favorite is "Father, Son, and the Goalie Post." If you are looking for 24 minutes of aggressive tension, this is for you.-AW
