Comasoft is an engaging 11-song demo project on which electronica overachiever Jay Ramirez performs all of the vocals, keyboards and programming, using excess material not performed by his Grand Rapids outfit The Drone. Comasoft's metaphorical lyrics merge Ramirez' love of theoretical physics and astronomy with such nagging human emotions as cynicism, apathy, frustration, contempt, passion, anticipation and the interplay of human consciousness with the universe encompassing it (or vice versa?). The grinding gearshifts of "Untitled" and the pleasantly awkward staccato verse arrangements of "Hydra" stand out on this ambitious and cohesive collection. Inquire via jayramirez@msn.com.
