Electric Violet's second album features an even better vocal performance from singer Carlee Strauss than that which was found on Kind. Strauss' melodies are not extraordinarily catchy and often futilely beg male vocal accompaniment ("To Believe"), but her consistently balls-out delivery makes for an engaging listen. Ranging from upbeat shakers like "Motown" to slow weepers like "Kutastha," Electric Violet's second LP to be released within three years suggests the band posesses the strict work ethic necessary for channeling its creative source into marketable listener delight.
