This four-song introduction showcases the band's slick songwriting and top-notch lead vocal capabilities - always the most important components of any pop rock band. The lead track "Think Left" cuts dangerously close to the Bush vein, but it does offer unquestionably catchy vocal melodies. Conversely, "Hello" steers clear of comparitory characteristics while serving up defining Jane Ads Up components: breathy, dynamic vocal lines delivered with strong conviction and moody, guitar-driven musical accompaniment. The forcible push of "Stuck In the Heater" is balanced by a tension-building restraint in chorus introduction, with the instrumental bridge section exercising wise arrangement choices. Lyrically, some of the chorus sections may rhyme a little too much. Still, this disc acts as a good primer to a band with good potential.-Cliff Frantz
