Who are you?!
LO FIDELITY ALL STARS
DON'T BE AFRAID OF LOVE
SKINT/COLUMBIA

Isn't there a chapter in the Rock & Roll Handbook that lists the dos and don'ts of record sequencing? Assuming there is, it seems likely that one of the first issues discussed would be why it is important to save your best stuff for the middle of the record. Sure, it's nice to start things off on a positive note, but by placing your best track first you run the risk of BORING THE LISTENER AFTER FIRST GETTING HIS/HER HOPES UP! Take the Lo Fidelity All Stars, whose new record starts off with a wonderful five minutes of snappy percussion, organ drones and the like. It's the kind of track that makes you think about happy things. Unfortunately, there are 11 more songs on this record - each of them substantially worse than the previous. -- AW
