STAR SAILOR
LOVE IS HERE
CAPITOL
Starsailor has not entered the mainstream with a bang nor a pop; the band is introducing itself with a tinkle and a strum. Love is Here is not flashy, exciting or trendy. It isn't thrashing, driving or energetic. It does have power though - it's real. Obvious upon first listen, Starsailor is a fan of Jeff Buckley and the acoustic guitar sound of the 70s - the ethereal quality of Starsailor's style and the voice of singer James Walsh is testimony to that. Each song on Love is Here is a heartfelt ballad of either love or lonesomeness, delivered with simplistic purity. Simple doesn't mean shallow; the instruments, and especially the vocals, are deeply passionate, leaving shadowy figures of Romanian gypsy folklore dancing around a bonfire in the mind of the imaginative listener.-KF
