The difference between studio newbies and studio veterans is usually quite profound - not the material, mind you, but the ability to capture "A" performances, call songwriting audibles and adequately mix instruments into separation within the limited sound spectrum available. The members of The Grady Clan are veterans. The material, though, is not overly innovative; musically a cross between Pantera and Down, the six electric studio songs of Nuthin’ and the seven live acoustic songs of Live In the Hood (encompassed on one disc) show spirit, attitude, and proficiency, but lack enough originality to keep interest.
