Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman, two men who have made separate, powerful impacts on music, partnered to create this interactive, global work of music and imagery. Catto is a founding member of the UK dance outfit Faithless, and Bridgeman has worked behind the boards for Duran Duran and Paul McCartney. In collaboration, the two men have traveled more than 20 countries to record music and thoughts from some of the planet's most creative individuals, and have also captured images that are snapshots of humanity in the world's current clime. The music is new age, 'world music' with hip-hop accentuation - one album fits all. Contributions to the interactive CD and DVD come from sources around the globe and include Nenah Cherry, Baaba Maal, Robbie Williams, Maxi Jazz, Michael Stipe, Asha Bhosle, The Mahotella Queens, Ulali, Whiri Mako Black, Eddi Reader and Revetti Sakalar. The DVD features high-profile thinkers and musicians including Ram Dass, Dennis Hopper, Tom Robbins, Speech (from Arrested Development) and Kurt Vonnegut. The vision of human unity that inspired Catto and Bridgeman is remarkable, and the music and images they've recorded follow in the footsteps of the vision. 1 Great Leap will be a part of every humanistic, cognitive thinker's collection. -- KF
