Those who subscribe to the "Rock is dead" theory have a fairly strong argument. There haven't been a whole lot of interesting developments in rock music in the last, say, 10 to12 years, with one of the few exceptions being the current emo rock wave. "Emo" seems to apply to bands that can rock out but aren't afraid to cry. There's a little more to it than that, but whatever it means, the kids are eating it up like candy. Vagrant Records has been at or near the forefront of this movement.This compilation features the entire Vagrant roster. Veteran groups like Face To Face and Rocket From The Crypt make strong contributions, proving that Vagrant is more than just emo. This one's for the quiet punker in your life.-AW
