From the slick, ecstasy-friendly dance opener of Rob Zombie's "Superbeast (Porno Holocaust Remix)" to the raw guitar stomp of Beautiful Creatures' "1 A.M.," this movie soundtrack veers back and forth between full-bore metal, trippy dance mixes, and songs embodying both qualities, like Disturbed's "God Of The Mind" and Amanda Ghost's "Filthy Mind." Mixed in with nine well-known marquee headers are some moderately obscure bands; Professional Murder Music, Snake River Conspiracy, Amanda Ghost and others will no doubt benefit from this introduction to the disc's target market: brand-name music buyers. The Hybrid Mix of Filter's "Take A Picture" breathes new dance life into the worn-out original, and the melodic pieces of Soulfly's "Son Song" will convince even the ignorant that they are not "just another heavy band." The ridiculous color scheme of the insert renders the liner notes completely unreadable, but the disc itself is a worthy listen.-Cliff Frantz
