MINUTES MINUTES

MINUTES don’t waste a second of their first full-length. The four-piece of Kalamazoo rock veterans Chafe Hensley, Mark Larmee, Ike Turner, and Ryan Nelson have years of experience, and now, older and wiser, they play like they have nothing to prove. Or lose. None of the tracks on this 10-song set reach four minutes, but nothing feels rushed. The driving guitar riffs and intentionally rough edges immediately recall the ‘90s D.C. hardcore scene on songs like “Peacetime,” living up to the unique, underground legacies of the band members’ previous projects, and the promise of MINUTES’ debut seven-inch, released in February. The album will be released on limited-edition vinyl Jan. 13, but is available for digital download now at minutes.bandcamp.com.
