Drinking Mercury Orcades

Drinking Mercury, a quartet of dudes from Ionia County, have put together an album which drags the ā€˜90s back into the spotlight with fuzzy guitars and lo-fi, low key rock ā€˜n’ roll. Humble warbly vocals dance over the jangly guitars and noisy recording quality. The songs really hang together despite taking their time to arc in their four-minute time frame. The Pavement plus Decemberists vibe of their material has a grim self-indulgent sincerity without pretense, and the sound of each song is varied, ensuring a listening experience for which you can maintain interest in from end to end.
